Three Rules To Happiness

Great Scott!
It's whatever you want it to be.
My quest for understanding has finally moved me some inches along. Last week, while musing Affirmations, I considered the innate human capacity to learn, along with our ability to choose to learn. This led me to question whether one prevailed (our ability to learn/adapt versus our ability to decide) or whether they worked together. It dawned on me Tuesday afternoon, as I rode the bus home, this questions is a variation of Nature vs. Nurture; where our ability to learn is naturally occurring and perpetual, and the decisions and beliefs we hold are fostered over time.

I've recently decided there is no 'versus' in my reality. Therefore my position is that our instinct and consciousness aren't separate; they work together. Even our ability to decide anything, to choose beliefs and actions, is instinctual. Because I'm saving further detailed explorations for later, I'm going to get to the part about Happiness.

1. Hope for and Believe in the Best Possible Outcome. This is basic "mind stuff" based off the vibrations of our thoughts, and the idea that our perception shapes reality.
2. Prepare for the worst. This is basic common sense that I don't feel nullifies #1 in any way. This can be physical or mental preparation. Like an athlete tending to his diet, resting his legs, or stretching. You stretch to avoid injury, but you train and eat right because you intend to perform excellently. Mental preparation is practicing not to fall apart or be deterred if your desired outcome is not immediately achieved.
An extreme example of this is seeing Time as one whole. (Not all that extreme, really - just means we live in the present all the time - which we already are, hopefully) So que se ra, because in the end it will all work out and if it doesn't then it's not the end. Something to that affect. This may seem a pretty lacks attitude toward Happiness and whatever requirements we conclude will bring it to us. This leads me to number 3.
3. Detach all expectation from the outcome. What's the point of wanting or doing anything if you don't expect anything? Yeah, I know. It's human nature. But if you're practicing #1 and #2, if you're repeating affirmations and influencing reality by your perception of it, while preparing your mind and your world for what you're projecting then if things go down (for a spell) you won't get disrupted, and if they go up too fast you won't lose your bearings because it'll be habit to keep preparing.

This is also just my personal playbook. And I am an Aquarius who manifests and perpetuates the traits of my zodiac sign because I choose to believe them. So there's that. This post is may be related.
